The echoraum is an event and production space in Vienna’s 15th district, focusing on contemporary and experimental forms of music.
Since its founding in 1988, the echoraum has seen itself as an artistic experimental field where new approaches can be explored and projects developed. The majority of events focus not only on conventional concert formats, but also on discourse and exchange, and not least on the artistic use of the space and its conditions. The program is interested in blending artistic disciplines: in addition to full-length concerts by local and international musicians and ensembles, it also includes co-productions in the field of music performance, exhibitions combining visual art and sound art, as well as readings, discourse events, and various collaborations with other associations and institutions, including several event series and small festivals.
