Originally built between 1605 and 1606, the building was remodeled in 1686 in the Neo-Classical style (influenced by Italian influences), presumably by the architect Elias Bouman on behalf of the wealthy Jewish-Portuguese DePinto family.
Protection & Use: The building is a listed building (Rijksmonument No. 5431) and played a key role in preserving the historic fabric of the Nieuwmarkt district in the 1970s.
