DESCRIPTION:With GLOW\, composer and trumpeter Jakob Helling presents a quartet featuring four distinctive musical personalities from the Viennese scene\, which creates musical space for moments of reflection\, pause\, and the conscious experience of tranquility. At the same time\, the quartet questions cultural structures—for example\, the conventions surrounding how music is presented in church-like spaces. In this way\, the acoustics of the REAKTOR become an invisible co-creator. \nGLOW’s music moves between contemporary jazz\, chamber music\, and minimalist structures. It creates a space for fragility\, tranquility\, and reflection. DESCRIPTION:Luisa Muhr: voice\nJessica Pavone: viola\nEric Arn: guitar\nKenneth Jiménez: bass \nLuisa Muhr ist eine österreichisch-New Yorker experimentelle Vokalistin und interdisziplinäre Künstlerin\, deren Arbeit sich auf Stimme\, Klang und körperliche Bewegung konzentriert. Ihre Praxis umfasst Improvisation\, Komposition\, Installation\, Performancekunst\, Bewegung/Tanz sowie experimentelles Musiktheater. Muhr veröffentlichte ihr Debüt-Soloalbum TEUFLIN/SHE-DEVIL\, das vom New York City Jazz Record für seine „zutiefst eindringlichen Vocals“ gelobt und als „eine lohnende Reise für mutige musikalische Entdecker:innen“ beschrieben wurde. Es folgte In Trialogue\, eine Liveaufnahme aus dem Wiener Porgy & Bess (2024)\, sowie ihr drittes Album Under Over World (2025). Das österreichische Skug Magazin bezeichnete Muhr als „eine famose Sängerin“ und lobte ihr “weiches Timbre wärmt die Seele\, ihre Intonationssicherheit weiß ebenso zu beeindrucken wie ihre Variationsbreite. Dazu kommt eine weitere beachtliche »Rechenleistung« ihres Gehirns: Sie erfindet die »Lyrics«\, die Worte und Laute spontan während des Singens.” Zu den Künstler:innen und Ensembles\, mit denen Muhr gearbeitet hat\, zählen Claire Chase\, Shelley Hirsch\, Meredith Monk\, Arturo O’Farrill\, William Parker\, John Zorn und die New York Philharmonic. \nIn diesem besonderen Quartett (und in dieser erstmaligen Zusammenarbeit) wird sie von Freund:innen und Kolleg:innen begleitet: der amerikanischen Bratschistin Jessica Pavone\, einer Veteranin der New Yorker Avantgarde-Szene; dem amerikanischen\, in Wien lebenden Gitarristen Eric Arn\, der auch auf In Trialogue zu hören ist; sowie dem costa-ricanischen\, in New York lebenden Bassisten Kenneth Jiménez\, der auf Under Over World zu hören ist. Gemeinsam verweben die vier meisterhaften Improvisator:innen einen intimen klanglichen Dialog\, hören einander aufmerksam zu und laden das Publikum zu einer Reise in die Seele durch Klang ein. \n
