SUMMARY:Vocal Adventures with Lauren Newton
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on her experience in a wide variety of jazz styles\, Lauren Newton works with participants on expanded vocal techniques that extend far beyond melodic singing. The spectrum of the voice is more easily accessed and perceived through free improvisation\, and each vocalist thus gains endless possibilities for an individual sound world and fascinating music. Everything is explored: group and individual sound\, pure tone\, noises\, melodies\, language\, rhythm\, pauses\, and the unexpected in the musical process.\nThe unconventional musical working methods improve the participants’ perception and ability to evaluate. Furthermore\, music takes on a deeper meaning for them and their listeners. SUMMARY:14 lessons of somatic movement and dance
DESCRIPTION:This fall cycle features 14 lessons of somatic movement and dance\, open to everyone\, regardless of previous experience. Immerse yourself in your body and explore the movement that arises directly from it\, then collaborate with other dancers. \nIn these lessons\, we will slow down\, soften\, and deepen our awareness—exploring breath\, touch\, and body parts through experiential movement work\, combining improvisation and contemporary dance technique. The lessons will also foster sensitivity to the poetry of dance—our own and that of others. \nWHAT WILL WE DO?\nWe will be based on experiential anatomy of the body and other inspirations drawn from techniques such as Body-Mind Centering\, the Skinner Releasing Technique\, and other relaxation approaches in dance. These help relax the body\, expand movement possibilities\, and deepen your relationship with your body. For advanced dancers\, they offer a deepening of presence and new movement qualities\, while for beginners\, they offer a sensitive introduction to dance without the pressure to perform. The experiential part of the course then leads to opening one’s attention from the inside of the body to the outside – to the space and the other dancers. Some courses also focus on the non-violent teaching of contemporary dance techniques according to the current needs of the group.\nThe course is open to everyone\, regardless of previous experience. If you’re not sure if it’s right for you\, come along and try the first class\, which is held as an open class.\nWHEN: Thursdays 6:30–8:00 PM (Arrival in the dressing room possible from 6:15 PM)\nDates: September 18\, September 25\, October 2\, October 9\, October 16\, October 23\, October 30\, November 6\, November 13\, November 20\, November 27\, December 4\, December 11\, December 18\, 2025\nWHERE: Radnická 8\, Brno\, Dance Hall (3rd floor)\nPRICE:\nFor participation in the entire cycle: 3\,500 CZK (250 CZK per lesson)\nFor one-time participation: 250 CZK for the open introductory lesson\, 350 CZK for additional lessons Classes\nWe recommend participation in the entire cycle. If this is not possible\, we can also arrange one-time participations.\nREGISTRATION AND QUESTIONS: Register by September 11th using the form https://forms.gle/d4utkErSVGm2aRwq9. Please direct any questions to corpomira.dance@gmail.com.\nFurther information: https://www.corpomira.cz/telo-se-diva/\nABOUT THE TEACHERS\nMichaela Ondrašinová\nI have been dancing for over 20 years and specialize in contemporary dance\, improvisation\, and spontaneous composition. In fall 2022\, I completed an intensive program at TIP – School for Dance\, Improvisation and Performance (Freiburg\, Germany). Since 2023\, I have been teaching dance classes to the public\, but I also devote myself to my own work and participate as a performer in other dance and movement theater projects. As a dancer\, I regularly participate in FreeForms evenings and workshops (Brno\, Vienna\, Trieste) – dialogues between improvised music\, dance\, and other art forms.\nYou can find more information about me here: https://drive.google.com/…/111oiWEl5Ad588H4Rp…\nTereza Juráková\nI began dancing when I was looking for support and a path to myself. Movement helped me stay connected with myself and the world – and it has been my home ever since. I studied somatic dance\, improvisation\, and especially spontaneous composition with various European teachers\, primarily Roberta Legros\, but also with Lily Kiara\, Maya M. Carroll\, and Agostina D’Alessandro. Today\, I work as a performer and am increasingly fascinated by my own work. In my classes\, I pass on what my teachers have taught me while simultaneously remaining in the role of an explorer myself – because for me\, dance is an endless dialogue.

He has arranged his improv set with hints of melodies\, sporadic rhythms\, and sound structures formed by a variety of analog sound samples. These are integrated into the digital signals of a no-input mixer. Another element is a modified resonator guitar. Driven by a motor\, a coil\, and a closed circuit\, its strings are set into permanent vibration\, generating an endless sustain. This results in a radical transformation of both the sound and the handling of the instrument. \nFrictive Frequencies is a series of experimental\, avantgarde or just plainly weird music handpicked by GubbiAnn (another hat\, for music and sound\, of Ann Antidote) \nContact Ausland if you consider attending and need accommodations and/or check what the possibilities are.

We will delve as deeply as possible so that in practice we can lean not only on the body of another\, but mainly on our own and feel\, perceive and let our spontaneous\, free flow of movement flow.\nThe workshop will always include:\n– individual somatic work (focused on perceiving your body and experiencing deeper principles)\n– floorwork (working with the ground)\n– work on individual principles of contact improvisation\n– awareness of the principles for entering jams\n– free jam\, where there will be an opportunity to try everything out in practice.\nEach workshop will be facilitated by two lecturers (Kateřina Hanzlíková and Michaela Ondrašinová)\, so individual care will be ensured 🙂\nThe workshops will be designed so that both those who are just starting out with contact improvisation and experienced dancers can get the most out of them. The individual workshops will follow each other\, so we recommend taking all of the workshops. By appointment\, it is also possible to visit individual lessons.\nThe workshop cycle will be open only if the minimum capacity is met\, which is 6 participants.\nThe lessons are held under the auspices of the corpo mira\, z.s. association\nIn individual workshops we will cover\, for example\, the following topics:\ntypes of touch (skin\, muscles\, bones)\, relationship with the ground and softness of movement on the ground\, space and finding balance (perception of your space vs. your partner’s space\, directions in space)\, pressure and pull (fascia\, leading and following in contact)\, levels of movement (several levels of movement: ground\, center\, flight; glide\, spirals\, rolling) and many others according to the needs of the group.\nQuestions:\nFor questions\, please contact Kateřina\, e-mail: katerina.hanzlikova@gmail.com or Míša\, e-mail: misharel@seznam.cz.\nPayment:\nSliding price\, i.e. 2600-3100 CZK for the entire cycle (please choose the price according to your possibilities).\nWhen visiting individual workshops: 750 CZK/lesson.\nRegistration:\nRegister no later than 12. 9. 2025 by sending an e-mail to: misharel@seznam.cz. Please send payment no later than 13. 9. (we will send you payment details after registration\, your place will be reserved only after payment is received).\nIn case of financial difficulties\, it is possible to agree on installments or another individual solution. If the only thing preventing you from participating in the lessons is the price\, please contact us\, we will try to find a solution.

SUMMARY:smallforms w/ Christian Reiner x Nicholas Hoffman & Laura Pudelek
DESCRIPTION:Christian Reiner\nNicholas Hoffman & Laura Pudelek\n\nChristian Reiner spricht Pier Paolo Pasolini\nDer italienische Dichter\, Essayist und Filmemacher Pier Paolo Pasolini war stets unabhängiger und schonungsloser Chronist seiner Zeit. „\nGanzer Text: https://www.filmmuseum.at/kinoprogramm/schiene?schienen_id=1669714944551\n\nNicholas Hoffman & Laura Pudelek\n“Mystery Street” a performance from Nicholas Hoffman and Laura Pudelek\nTake the building around the corner. SUMMARY:DuChamp | Eric Arn | Veronika Mayer | Mlondiwethu Dubazane
DESCRIPTION:DuChampis an Italian scientist\, musician and curator based in Berlin\, religiously devoted to drone.Drone is related to a precise childhood memory: the sound of the hair dryer\, that her mother used to fix her hair. That was the sound of care\, bliss\, and infinite love. She made her debut as solo on Aug 22 2010\, and performed several time across Europe and in the US West Coast.Since 2017\, DuChamp started to incorporate real field recordings\, related to her personal memory\, into her drone compositions\, by adding layers of sounds and noise in attempt to recreate some kind of apophonias. Her debut album “NAR” has been released in 2013 through the italian cult label Boring Machines. In 2015 the split “Sculpture” with French sound artist Felicia Atkinson was released through Idiosyncratics. In 2016 and 2017 Full Body Massage records released that tapes “Nectere” and the following year “A Blazing World”. Her new album “The Wild Joy” will be released in 2025 by Torto Edition\, Ramble Records and Atena Records.———-\nVeronika Mayer composes contemporary experimental music in the context of free improvisation as electronic musician with the laptop. She is dedicated to the effects of minimal sound changes and demands openness for subtle details. Veronika is on the curatorial team of the Klangmanifeste festival and a member of snim – spontaneous network for improvised music. She studied piano\, instrumental and electroacoustic composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts\, Vienna.&Eric Arn ist ein in Wien lebender Gitarrist dessen Stile zu weit gefächert sind\, um hier eine genaue Beschreibung dessen abzugeben\, was genau an diesem Abend zu hören sein wird. Basis ist in diesem Zusammenhang jedenfalls Improvisation. ————–\nMlondiwethu Dubazaneis a South African creative sound-maker\, spontaneous spirit-music practitioner\, sonic-dramatist and improviser. His sonic vision cultivates a sensitivity to the unveiling of the heart\, in sound and in practice. Each day\, he listens to the space behind the eyes\, behind the gut\, behind the pelvis\, behind the heart. His music is an offering to the space of inspiration that thrums within us all.For his offering\, Mlondiwethu will be sourcing inspiration from the movements of Word\, Rhythm and Spirit; to create a performative and sonic encounter titled in the voices of many. Attentively listening to the enthusiasm and refuge that each vibration\, note\, and sound carries and offers\, in the voices of many\, is an improvisation toward an amplification of the subtle\, unseen\, and often-unspoken energies that thrum within us.
