DESCRIPTION:Elliott Sharp ist ein US-amerikanischer Multiinstrumentalist und Komponist\, der zur experimentellen New Yorker Downtown-Szene gehört. Daneben trat Sharp\, der 1968 zur Gitarre als Hauptinstrument gewechselt war\, mit psychedelischen Bands\, aber auch mit Avantgarde-Jazzgruppen und mit klassischen Konzertensembles auf. 1978 zog er nach New York\, wo er mit Bobby Previte\, Charles Noyes und Guy Klucevsek spielte und das Plattenlabel zOaR music gründete. Projekte mit Bill Laswell\, Eugene Chadbourne\, John Zorn\, Anthony Coleman\, Samm Bennett\, Mike Watt und David Linton folgten. Er gründete seine Band Carbon 1983 und spielte mit Zeena Parkins\, Eric Mingus\, Vernon Reid\, Joey Baron sowie David Torn. With a background in choreography and performaning arts\, her work often follows material-based processes and is shaped by the logic of tactile interaction\, manual practice\, and her earlier profession in body-centered care work. Forster is interested in collaboration\, the dynamics of live and score-based performances\, in what emerges in the moment and remains as sensation\, image\, or fleeting trace. Her often site specific work is closely tied to sonic exploration\, creating intimate and sensory environments. DESCRIPTION:Registration: Please register by email at info@kvr.or.at. \nFor musicians\, feedback and nonlinearity are productive because they make systems behave less like tools and more like material. Instead of simply carrying out instructions\, these systems develop tendencies\, thresholds\, and instabilities of their own. They invite a musical practice based less on control than on setting conditions and listening to what follows.\nThis workshop approaches digital feedback and nonlinearity as ways of developing such material. When fed-back signals meet a nonlinearity\, something emerges from their contact that was present in none of them alone: combination tones\, beating patterns\, and textures that belong to the interaction itself. These systems are lawful but surprising. Small changes in gain\, delay\, or filtering can flip them suddenly from one kind of behavior into another and precisely this sensitivity makes them perceptually rich\, in performance as in composition.\nOver two days\, we work with thresholds\, hysteresis\, saturation\, folds\, noise\, and integration; with iterated maps and chaotic oscillators; and with delay lines\, filters\, resonators\, and coupled networks. A central concern is how to listen to what has been built: riding parameters slowly through sonic spaces\, finding tipping points\, and staying with the zones where behavior changes character.\nThe indeterminacy at play is not imposed from outside but generated from within\, through the rigorous application of the system’s own rules. DESCRIPTION:Things that have vanished may leave no trace in history\, yet they linger\, subtly\, within our senses. What disappears does not disappear completely — it merely changes form and remains within us. Through the language of live coding\, sofolofo eeks to summon these vanished things back through the act of listening. \nLuc Döbereiner is a composer\, musician and researcher whose work explores the fragility\, contingency and materiality of sound. Through his music\, he investigates the entanglement of social\, technological and compositional systems\, investigating processes of sonic becoming\, liminality and the relationality of sound. His work explores how meaning and identity are both dissolved and constituted in sound. \nTaking various forms\, including collaborative and solo performances\, fixed media works\, and written scores for choirs\, soloists\, and ensembles\, his music frequently incorporates adaptive generative processes and sound synthesis algorithms. Döbereiner views synthesis as a processual form of computational becoming\, where perceptual forms emerge from material encounters. Influenced by a wide range of genres\, including early experimental computer music\, medieval and renaissance polyphony\, noise\, improvisation\, and sound art\, his music is characterized by continuously evolving forms\, states of fragility\, noise\, and turbulence. \nOriginally from Berlin\, Luc Döbereiner has performed in experimental music venues across Europe. He has collaborated with ensembles such as LUX:NM\, Eklekto Percussion\, KNM\, Schallfeld\, AuditivVokal and Vertixe Sonora. He studied at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague and holds a PhD from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. Alongside his creative work\, he has taught at institutions including the Donaueschinger Musiktage\, the University of the Arts Berlin\, the Bern University of the Arts\, and the Free University of Berlin. It leaves the body\, changes its form\, and continues as resonance\, movement\, texture\, and vibration.\nFragments of Bodies follows these remaining fragments—not as memories to be preserved\, but as living sonic traces that continue to move\, collide\, dissolve\, and return.\nAcross five movements\, the work unfolds as a gradual transformation of these traces: from Resonating to Bearing\, from Splintering to Gathering\, and finally toward Outliving the body itself.\nPerhaps every disappearance leaves behind a rhythm.\nThis work listens to those rhythms.

Sound-art practices\, by contrast\, often discard this setup and allow free movement in space.\nThese formats reveal a divide: improvised music embraces spontaneity yet remains tied to the framework of “music\,” and we can sense whether a sound leans toward the musical or the purely sonic.\nTo address this core issue of improvisation\, it is meaningful for us to adopt a more sound-art-oriented approach and use space dynamically\,\nmoving through it when needed. \nAxel Dörner is one of the most unique voices in free improvisation. He developed a completely different language for the trumpet in the late\n1990s. Most of the ensembles he is part of are characterized by a non-hierarchical collaboration of the musicians involved.\nSince 2000 extended concert tours on all five continents which led to a worldwide genre- comprehensive musical network with most distinguished musicians of our time (SWR Jazzprize 2006\, Jazzprize of the city of Berlin 2019). His discography consists at this time of more than 150 CDs / LPs. \nPercussionist-drummer Seijiro Murayama was born in 1957 in Nagasaki\, Japan. From 1982 to 1995\, he dedicated himself to improvisation by\nplaying in Keiji Haino’s band Fushitsusha\, then in K.K. Null’s noise/rock band A.N.P. (Absolut Null Punkt). \nA relocation to France in 1999 led to collaborations that extended to dance\, theatre\, and performance\, as well as ongoing partnerships with\nmusicians like Jean-Luc Guionnet\, Eric La Casa\, and Axel Dörner\, among many others.\nHis activities as an improviser-composer are based on the concept of interdisciplinarity. Today\, one of his main axes of work is to regularly\nconduct workshops on non-idiomatic improvisation. There she sees the possibility to grow unexpected relationships and enter impossible places – utopias.
