SUMMARY:Eat me Cosmos
DESCRIPTION:Swallowing space and time\, this durational performance swings dangerously close to its surround in simultaneously evoking theatrical perception and uneventful meditative drama. In it\, object\, sound and motion churn in and spit out a single performer’s sustained effort to maintain the center of everything all at once at Reaktor’s grand hall. Melanie Maar and Christian Schröder create a field of attention for performer and audience alike\, conjuring a continuum between hard-earned individual agency and a pleasurable surrender to collectively being eaten alive. \n‘Melanie Maar and Christian Schröder have been working together for over a decade. Though one of these artists generally works with sound and the other with bodily movement\, neither subscribes to categorization\, staying in one’s lane\, or conventional roles and boundaries in the realms of music\, performance and art.’

SUMMARY:velak-gala #146
DESCRIPTION:La Cuerda y el Grito \nLa Cuerda y el Grito\, translated as “The String and the Scream”\, is a multidisciplinary performance that blends contemporary music\, free improvisation\, body\, and object. Yuko Cornale and Sofía Escamilla work from a place of depth and in the quest for the intangible – each from a different language: one using the voice as a portal\, the other through cello as an extension of the body. This duo is born from attentive listening and the willingness to inhabit the moment. While Yuko’s voice folds\, distorts\, and channels the intangible\, Sofía’s cello expands through digital processing and sound objects. \nA seismic encounter between two explorers of the deep who come together in a dialogue of sounds and emotions. Voice and cello merge and warp creating an intimate ritual where air becomes string\, and string becomes scream. Both artists were selected for the Ibermúsicas – Emilia Romagna call\, with tours in Mexico and Italy alongside the trio HackOut!. In 2025-2026 they develop The String and the Scream. \n\n \nYuko Cornale \nPerformer\, improviser\, composer\, and producer born in Bolivia and of Italian nationality. Based in Mexico City for over ten years\, her work focuses on vocal exploration and the use of extended techniques. Active in the experimental scene\, she performs in free improvisation concerts and collaborates with contemporary music ensembles. She teaches private voice lessons and leads the Vox Anima workshop\, which encourages vocal exploration and somatic knowledge of the voice. \nShe currently leads two main projects: Craniata\, an immersive performance combining digital art\, visual arts\, electronic music\, body\, and voice; and Ensamble Voraz\, a group dedicated to free improvisation with influences of black metal\, doom\, and noise rock. Her practice is driven by the exploration of the depths\, channeling the intangible. \nSofía Escamilla \nCellist\, composer\, and sound artist Mexican who moves between contemporary academic music\, free improvisation\, performance\, and electroacoustic music. Her approach to the instrument begins with the exploration of extended techniques with real-time digital processing\, layering voice and other sound objects. Her work also spans multidisciplinary collaborations in poetry\, dance\, theater\, and film. Notable collaborations include the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra 2023 as a composer selected for the Orchestral Techniques Workshop\, and with the UNAM Choreographic Workshop 2025 as a live cellist. She is currently a member and founder of the free jazz trio Segaki\, a member of Kóryma orchestra led by jazz pianist Ana Ruíz\, and cellist in trumpeter and jazz artist Jacob Wick’s ensemble\, with whom they recorded an album in 2025. \nErikM \nDisappearing Words takes as its starting point the list of terms banned by the Trump administration — science-based\, transgender\, diversity\, climate change… Entrusted to an AI-generated artificial voice\, these words appear as a fragile memory\, already under threat of erasure. Integrated into the Idiosyncrasie device\, built from real-time sound streams and reconfigured raw materials\, they enter a process of continuous transformation. Little by little\, the voice blurs\, dissolves\, merges with the streams\, and drifts toward entropy: a state where meaning fades\, where sonic matter decomposes into an unstable and unpredictable field. Between memory and disappearance\, Disappearing Words sets political language and its\nmanipulation against the fragility of any sonic trace\, questioning the ways in which words can be erased\, diverted\, or rendered inaudible. \neRIkm (Aka Erik M) is a French musician\, composer and visual artist. Since his first experience in the plastic and visual arts\, ErikM takes the risk to escape any attempt of hasty categorization. Very quickly considered as a virtuoso of electronic devices and sound arts (1994)\, he crosses the worlds-systems called „independent“\, „institutional“ and territories (France – International). He develops an openly prospective approach of the technological medium. He conceives acousmatic works or composes mixed music for instrumental ensembles (Ensemble Inter contemporain\, Phoenix Basel\, Les Percussions de Strasbourg\, Dedalus…). He has collaborated with Luc Ferrari\, Jean-Luc Nancy\, Christian Marclay\, Thurston Moore\, Bernard Stiegler\, Mathilde Monnier\, FM Einheit\, Will Oldham … and creates transversal works that constitute a singular kaleidoscopic vision and put in tension the intimate and the political\, the popular and the learned. \nwww.erikm.com\n \nSajjra Xhrs Galarreta \nPsychoacoustic live session with Andean-Amazonian ceramic whistle \nPremiered at DATA (Marseille) under the new moon of November 21 of 2025. \nA physical sound experience based on deep breathing\, silence\, resonances\, and tonal imprecision in the mid-frequency range\, performed with an Andean clay ocarina. The playing style is influenced by the “cracked\,” dissonant\, intense\, and energetic sound characteristic of rituals with Andean wind instruments. Otoacoustic situationism and rural futurism. \nhttps://chrsgalarretaprojects.bandcamp.com/

SUMMARY:Rebecca Minten & Luz Gonzalez | Aleksandar Škorić
\nAleksandar Škorić\nis a Serbian drummer whose playing fuses the rhythmic vitality of the Balkans with the spiritual intensity of free jazz. His approach is characterized by both dynamic power and subtlety\, making him a versatile and sought-after musician in contemporary improvised music. Škorić studied jazz and improvisation at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen (Netherlands) and at the KASK Conservatory in Ghent (Belgium). There\, he developed an open and exploratory approach to percussion\, rooted in both tradition and avant-garde innovation. He has performed internationally with leading figures in improvised and free jazz\, including Akira Sakata\, William Parker\, John Dikeman\, Linda Sharrock\, Jamie Branch\, Charles Gayle\, and Shabaka Hutchins. His discography includes Glory Divine (Charles Gayle Trio)\, Live in Europe 2022 (Akira Sakata Entasis\, Trost Records)\, and Like One Long Dream (Mofaya\, with Jamie Branch\, John Dikeman\, Luke Stewart\, and Škorić). Through his ability to weave Balkan rhythms with contemporary free improvisation\, Škorić makes a unique rhythmic contribution to both the European and international creative music scenes. \nA Škorić YouTube\nA Škorić Soundcloud \n

SUMMARY:Anaïs Tuerlinckx · Warelis / Stoffner / Fischerlehrer
\n[EN]\nAn exciting free improvising trio uniting three active members from the European jazz- and improv scene: Pianist Marta Warelis is known for her solo work and collaborations with musicians such as Wilbert de Joode\, Ab Baars\, Dave Douglas\, and Kaja Draksler. The trio’s magnificent fury sublimates the high level of each of the three improvisers\, propelling them into a state of trance rarely achieved. An extreme quality of collective invention that goes far beyond and above individual musicianship. A must-see!“\nOrynx – Improv and Sounds \n„Ein feinsinnig intellektuelles Dreiergespann\, das durchaus Mut zur Sprödheit beweist.“\nFreiStil \n„Mit allseits perkussiven\, spritzigen\, plonkenden Kürzeln und trappelig huschenden Pfoten\, klimprig und rasselig\, kratzig und rappelig\, agil verdichtet.“\nBad Alchemy

SUMMARY:Minten & González\, Kasho Chualan & Ivar Roban Krizic & Thomas Grill
DESCRIPTION:Minten & González \nThis duo starts from the desire to create a common language beyond any aesthetic line or tradition\, as well as from the conviction that musical understanding goes beyond these categories. In this project Luz González (live electronics) and Rebecca Minten (bass clarinet) provoke and support each other in equal parts by the use of multiphonics\, live processing\, sinus tones and pure noise.\nTogether they created the work Zones limitrophes which evolved in an eclectic duo touring since then. \nMinten&Gonzalez were guests at. Primi Copenhagen\, Sonorities Festival Belfast 2024\, Vekks Vienna\, echoraum (AT)\, Neue Musik St. Ruprecht (AT)\, noiseberg Berlin\, la Voirie Biel etc.\nIn 2025 they recorded their debut album at Morphine Raum Berlin\, to be released in 2026 with PreferMusic\, wabi-sabi tapes and Aut Records. \nKasho Chualan & Ivar Roban Krizic & Thomas Grill \nOutputs routed back as inputs: a ceaseless circuit of cause and effect. Sounds to bodies to objects to space—ad infinitum. Ever-feeding\, never satiated\, the network connects us all\, existing before and after. The performance serves as a “during”: it allows us to explicate our relationship to the other\, to designate a time and space that embeds us as part of the loop\, neither positive nor negative\, only therein. \nFeedback is an exploration of the network nodes that go by the names Kasho Chualan\, Thomas Grill\, and IRK\, and their respective extensions. \nDoors: 19:30 · Start: 20:30

SUMMARY:Collins & Ulher · Carrasco & Vergara
DESCRIPTION:Two trumpets\, two very diferent approaches: one electronic\, the other acoustic. While Collins works with a computer program and cobbled hardware\, Ulher uses metal sheets\, radios\, milk frothers and other everyday objects. The diametrically opposed sound production leads to oddly similar sonic results.\nConcerts in Berlin\, at blurred edges festival in Hamburg\, Ensemblia Festival in Mönchengladbach\, Alternativa Festival in Prague\, Lampo in Chicago\, Planetario de Bogota\, Universidad de los Andes in Bogota and Museo Arte Moderno in Medellín. Their first release Spark Gap was just released on Relative Pitch Records. \nNicolas Collins\nNew York born and raised\, Nicolas Collins spent years in Europe\, where he was Artistic Director of STEIM (Amsterdam)\, and a DAAD composer-in-residence in Berlin. SUMMARY:Luisa Muhr / Jessica Pavone / Eric Arn / Kenneth Jiménez

SUMMARY:GLOW
DESCRIPTION:With GLOW\, composer and trumpeter Jakob Helling presents a quartet featuring four distinctive musical personalities from the Viennese scene\, which creates musical space for moments of reflection\, pause\, and the conscious experience of tranquility. At the same time\, the quartet questions cultural structures—for example\, the conventions surrounding how music is presented in church-like spaces. In this way\, the acoustics of the REAKTOR become an invisible co-creator. \nGLOW’s music moves between contemporary jazz\, chamber music\, and minimalist structures. It creates a space for fragility\, tranquility\, and reflection. Jakob Helling’s compositions unfold their unique power in the expansive space of the REAKTOR\, where architecture and acoustics become resonance chambers for engaging with the event\, reverberation\, and reflection. \nLINEUP: \nJakob Helling – trumpet\, flugelhorn\, Mellotron \nMatthew Halpin – tenor saxophone \nAlois Eberl – trombone\, stomp box \nBeate Wiesinger – double bass \n  \nRUNNING TIME approx. 50 minutes \nTickets at the entrance\, donation-based \nDoors open one hour before the concert begins. \n

SUMMARY:SMALLFORMS Yuzu | Seijiro Murayama and Axel Dörner
DESCRIPTION:Venue: more infos soon! (or write to office@smallforms.org) \nAxel Dörner & Seijiro Murayama \nSince the modern era\, the conventional concert format—performers facing an audience—has remained largely unchanged\, even in\nimprovisation. Sound-art practices\, by contrast\, often discard this setup and allow free movement in space.\nThese formats reveal a divide: improvised music embraces spontaneity yet remains tied to the framework of “music\,” and we can sense whether a sound leans toward the musical or the purely sonic.\nTo address this core issue of improvisation\, it is meaningful for us to adopt a more sound-art-oriented approach and use space dynamically\,\nmoving through it when needed. \nAxel Dörner is one of the most unique voices in free improvisation. He developed a completely different language for the trumpet in the late\n1990s. Most of the ensembles he is part of are characterized by a non-hierarchical collaboration of the musicians involved.\nSince 2000 extended concert tours on all five continents which led to a worldwide genre- comprehensive musical network with most distinguished musicians of our time (SWR Jazzprize 2006\, Jazzprize of the city of Berlin 2019). His discography consists at this time of more than 150 CDs / LPs. \nPercussionist-drummer Seijiro Murayama was born in 1957 in Nagasaki\, Japan. From 1982 to 1995\, he dedicated himself to improvisation by\nplaying in Keiji Haino’s band Fushitsusha\, then in K.K. Null’s noise/rock band A.N.P. (Absolut Null Punkt). \nA relocation to France in 1999 led to collaborations that extended to dance\, theatre\, and performance\, as well as ongoing partnerships with\nmusicians like Jean-Luc Guionnet\, Eric La Casa\, and Axel Dörner\, among many others.\nHis activities as an improviser-composer are based on the concept of interdisciplinarity. Today\, one of his main axes of work is to regularly\nconduct workshops on non-idiomatic improvisation. The motor of his approach resides in the attention to space and place\, the energy of the\naudience\, and the quality and perception of silence on various levels. \nhttps://axeldoerner.bandcamp.com/album/afore-2\n \nYuzu \nMilena Georgieva aka Yuzu is a composer and transdisciplinary artist\, born in Bulgaria and based in Vienna. Guided by a fluid\, unbound sense of music and listening she explores sound as an ever unfolding\, organic matter. Her fascination with music is it’s capacity to be simultaneously a collective and radically intimate experience. There she sees the possibility to grow unexpected relationships and enter impossible places – utopias. Symbiosis — understood as both emergence and coexistence — lies at the core of her current compositional and collaborative work with choirs and ensembles. She interlaces diverse musical practices like improvisation and score\, modular and digital sound design\, live-processing\, experimental and extended instrumental\, vocal and recording techniques. By engaging noise\, texture\, and grip as auditory sensations of materiality\, alongside processual and space-activating aspects like acoustic dimensionality\, phasing\, resonance-dissonance and polytemporality she sets in motion complex and multidimensional bodies of sound. \n///// \nInstagram\n@yuzu_.__\n@milenagerogieva.xyz\nWeb: milenageorgieva.xyz \nDoors: 19h30\nMusic: 20h30

SUMMARY:Circuit Fantôme Season 6 Episode 11: Elnaz Behfar\, Fragments of Bodies (2026)
DESCRIPTION:https://floatingsound.at\n\nAn acousmatic composition in five movements.\nEvery body carries more than its own weight.\nIt carries rhythms shaped by breath\, gesture\, memory\, and time.\nEvery body is a temporary shelter for rhythm.\nWhen a body can no longer hold its own rhythm\, the rhythm does not disappear. It leaves the body\, changes its form\, and continues as resonance\, movement\, texture\, and vibration.\nFragments of Bodies follows these remaining fragments—not as memories to be preserved\, but as living sonic traces that continue to move\, collide\, dissolve\, and return.\nAcross five movements\, the work unfolds as a gradual transformation of these traces: from Resonating to Bearing\, from Splintering to Gathering\, and finally toward Outliving the body itself.\nPerhaps every disappearance leaves behind a rhythm.\nThis work listens to those rhythms.
