DESCRIPTION:Two trumpets\, two very diferent approaches: one electronic\, the other acoustic. While Collins works with a computer program and cobbled hardware\, Ulher uses metal sheets\, radios\, milk frothers and other everyday objects. The diametrically opposed sound production leads to oddly similar sonic results.\nConcerts in Berlin\, at blurred edges festival in Hamburg\, Ensemblia Festival in Mönchengladbach\, Alternativa Festival in Prague\, Lampo in Chicago\, Planetario de Bogota\, Universidad de los Andes in Bogota and Museo Arte Moderno in Medellín. Their first release Spark Gap was just released on Relative Pitch Records. \nNicolas Collins\nNew York born and raised\, Nicolas Collins spent years in Europe\, where he was Artistic Director of STEIM (Amsterdam)\, and a DAAD composer-in-residence in Berlin. He is a Professor in the Department of Sound at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Research Fellow at the Orpheus Institute (Ghent). An early adopter of microcomputers for live performance\, Collins also makes use of homemade electronic circuitry and conventional acoustic instruments. His book\, Handmade Electronic Music – The Art of Hardware Hacking (Routledge)\, now in its third edition\, has infuenced emerging electronic music worldwide. \nBirgit Ulher\nBirgit Ulher lives as a freelance musician\, sound artist and composer in Hamburg. After her studies in the field of visual\narts\, she developed her own playing techniques and preparations with trumpet\, radio\, loudspeakers and objects. Apart from this material research\, her special interest lays in the relationship between silence and sound. Her work includes acoustic and electroacoustic projects\, solo performances\, concert and sound installations\, videos\, concept pieces and concerts in the field of improvised / experimental music. She has received numerous grants and travels internationally with her concert activities. \nCarrasco & Vergara: Album Release Tour Secuelas \nThis duo is the result of a collaboration between the chilean musicians Benjamín Vergara and Edén Carrasco\, spanning more than 20 years. This partnership is reflected in practices in the context of experimental music\, noise\, minimalism\, free jazz\, site specific performance. The music of this project explores the limits of the timbres of these two acoustic air instruments\, trumpet & sax\, building zones with melodic lines camouflaged by textures\, a noisy touch of dron blues\, and a submarine version of cool jazz. This 2026 the duo released a cassette álbum called -secuelas- by the italian label Tsss Tapes\, that they will be playing in some cities of europe that includes Cafe Oto (London)\, Echoraum (Viena)\, Sowieso (Berlin)\, Richten 25 (Berlin)\, Cap 30 (Copenhague)\, Hörbar (Hamburg). \nCarrasco & Vergara YouTube \nEdén Carrasco\nChilean musician that plays free improvised music and has played in many different bands such as Ensamble Majamama\, La Kut\, Cariñito 3\, Martin Joseph Pacific Ensemble\, Akinetón Retard\, Cuarteto de Saxofones de Miguel Villafruela\, Ensamble Nuevo of Goethe Institut\, and many other spontaneous and ad hoc combinations for improvised music. He has been part of casual meetings of improvised music and/or recorded and published albums with musicians Tetuzi Akiyama\, Angélica Castelló\, Klaus Filip\, Ly Thanh Tien\, Jason Kahn\, Leonel Kaplan\, Christof Kurzmann\, Andy Moor\, Norbert Möslang\, Günter Müller\, Tatsuya Nakatani\, David Stakenäs\, Burkhard Stangl\, Sabu Toyozumi\, Taku Unami\, Birgit Ulher\, Dafne Vicente-Sandoval\, Ute Völker and Manfred Werder. He has played in many stages in Argentina\, Belgium\, Bolivia\, Brasil\, China\, Colombia\, Germany\, France\, Holland\, Japan\, Spain\, Uruguay and Venezuela. At the same time\, is involved in the tradition of gaita colombiana\, and has a project called Mákina Kandela. \nBenjamín Vergara\nChilean trumpet player\, improviser and educator\, based in the city of Valdivia\, Chile.His work focuses on improvised music\, written contemporary music\, free jazz and experimental music. Director of the Festival of experimental music –Relincha- occurring since 2014 in the city of Valdivia. Professor in music improvisation at School of Music and SoundArt of the Universidad Austral de Chile.
