SUMMARY:Vocal Adventures with Lauren Newton
DESCRIPTION:Drawing on her experience in a wide variety of jazz styles\, Lauren Newton works with participants on expanded vocal techniques that extend far beyond melodic singing. The spectrum of the voice is more easily accessed and perceived through free improvisation\, and each vocalist thus gains endless possibilities for an individual sound world and fascinating music. Everything is explored: group and individual sound\, pure tone\, noises\, melodies\, language\, rhythm\, pauses\, and the unexpected in the musical process.\nThe unconventional musical working methods improve the participants’ perception and ability to evaluate. Furthermore\, music takes on a deeper meaning for them and their listeners. Guided by the musical moment\, creativity is unleashed\, and we experience the world of the human voice in a whole new way!\nThe course is equally suitable for vocalists and instrumentalists who want to work with the voice. \nInstructor: Lauren Newton\nCourse Times:\nFri\, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM\nSat\, 10:30 AM–6:00 PM\nSun\, 11:00 AM–3:00 PM\nCourse Fee:\n€170/€150 (regular/reduced price)\nGroup Size:\nMaximum: 20 participants\nTarget Group:\nThe course is equally suitable for vocalists and instrumentalists who wish to work with their voices.\nLanguages:\nen/de\nContact:\nQuestions regarding the course content can be sent by email to:\nexploratorium berlin Organizational questions can also be sent by email info@exploratorium-berlin.de\n Registration:\nUse the form by September 5\, 2025

SUMMARY:F(r)ictive Frequencies
DESCRIPTION:Doors open 19:00 | Concert 20:00 | Tickets (only at the door) sliding scale 7-15 €\n– DAS – Daphne and Simpson – Obsolte machines and talking hats\n– Ignatz Höch + Hannah Mouse: twitching mass of asymmetrical insects and spray glue in the shape of a woman\n– Winona Lin and Frank – sampling\, feedback\, objects\, improvised \nF(r)ictive frequencies\, formerly Strings attach/ed\, names a very irregular concert series for irregular methods\, languages and existences: noise\, experimental\, atonal\, spoken word\, minimalism and maximalism\, DIY\, the violence of discovery\, the unlikelihood of existing\, and many many other niceties. \nIgnatz Höch + Hannah Mouse\nhttps://ignatzhoch.bandcamp.com\nPro Bio: Judy Greta Moore is a multifunctional artist and a busy little bee. She makes comics\, Hi-NRG goth music and teaches art. Her music is politically aggressive and aggressively sugary\, inspired by among other things\, theatrical post punk\, trans girl bedroom pop and mid century jazz vocalists. She’s exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery London\, The Institute of Contemporary Art London\, The Freud Museum London\, The Museum of Communication Berlin\, Whose Museum Malmo\, among others. \nDAS (Dafne And Simpson)\nObsolete machines and talking hats.\nA kabelsalat of glitched moving images and soft noise.\nhttps://agentecostura.art\nhttps://dafnenarvaezberlfein.de \nWinona Lin and Frank\nWinona Lin – Information and links coming soon\nFrank creates a unique soundscape in the transition from noise to music. He has arranged his improv set with hints of melodies\, sporadic rhythms\, and sound structures formed by a variety of analog sound samples. These are integrated into the digital signals of a no-input mixer. Another element is a modified resonator guitar. Driven by a motor\, a coil\, and a closed circuit\, its strings are set into permanent vibration\, generating an endless sustain. This results in a radical transformation of both the sound and the handling of the instrument. \nFrictive Frequencies is a series of experimental\, avantgarde or just plainly weird music handpicked by GubbiAnn (another hat\, for music and sound\, of Ann Antidote) \nContact Ausland if you consider attending and need accommodations and/or check what the possibilities are.
