SUMMARY:CoFestival\, the international festival of contemporary dance
DESCRIPTION:co-produced by Kino Šiška and Nomad Dance Academy\, returns with its 14th edition\, taking place from 21 to 28 November 2025 at Kino Šiška and other venues across Ljubljana. This year’s festival once again offers an outstanding international programme\, bringing together top-tier artists\, fresh choreographic approaches\, and a rich accompanying programme of talks\, workshops\, and social gatherings. \n\nThe title of Sonja Pregrad’s solo Object of Dance (2022) sets the tone for the artistic landscape addressed by the works of Berlin’s Dance On Ensemble under the joint name Making Dances. A short solo by Martha Graham\, Deep Song (1937)\, will be accompanied by an installation by director and performer Tim Etchells titled Everything/Nothing (2021)\, marking the first live presentation of Graham’s work in Slovenia. Dance On Ensemble also reconstructed Story (1963)\, Merce Cunningham’s legendary open work\, which prompted a choreographic response from French choreographer Mathilde Monnier\, titled Never Ending (Story) (2021). \nIn collaboration with the Forum for New Music\, the Old Power Station will host the premiere of Open Cage\, choreographed by Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik and Milan Tomášik\, featuring live performances of works from John Cage’s repertoire\, along with Rauch Podrzavnik’s own recent piece A Fold (2024). German choreographer Isabelle Schad returns with her latest piece Studies of Infinity #2 – Nudity and Landscape (2024)\, a sensitive closing to the Object of Dance section. \nFour contemporary expressions of subjectivity will unfold through four solo works: South African choreographer and dancer Tiran Willemse’s Blackmilk (2022)\, exploring the specific masculinities in South African pop culture; Batty Bwoy (2022)\, an anthological queer solo by rising European contemporary dance star Harald Baharie; and debut pieces by local dance artists Petja Golec Horvat (my own private\, Spring 2025) and Bor Prokofjev (Equilibrium\, 2024)\, the latter premiered at the Dance Theatre Ljubljana. \nThe programme also includes a presentation of choreographic artworks blending art and technology as part of the European project MODINA\, where dance artists collaborate with technologists and engineers to create choreo-digital situations\, accompanied by a dedicated conference strand. \nCo-produced by Kino Šiška and Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia\, the festival will also host talks\, workshops\, and social events that invite collective reflection on the programme. \nMark your calendars and stay tuned to the CoFestival channels — more programme details coming soon!

SUMMARY:bimm [BAMM]
DESCRIPTION:Elisabeth Flunger (Perkussion) / Edgar Friedl (Plattenspieler) / Chris Janka (E-Gitarre) \nbimm (auch bekannt als BAMM) ist ein experimentelles Trio aus E-Gitarre\, Plattenspieler und Schrottschlagzeug. Es siedelt im Freiland zwischen Schrottplatz und Strandbar und reicht seinem Publikum Erfrischungen in Form von skurrilen Klängen. \nRichtung Strandbar sitzt Chris\, der sich mit der E-Gitarre nicht nur dem Experiment\, sondern auch den Melodien und Harmonien des Wohlklangs und der Heiterkeit widmet. Elisabeth schielt mit ihrer Percussion in Richtung Schrottplatz und bringt die Liebe zum Zufall und den brachialen Umgang mit losen Metall- und Musikteilen ins Spiel. Edgar an den Turntables\, mit seiner seltsamen Sammlung von Text- und Archivschallplatten\, hat zu allem einen punktgenau passendenen Kommentar in der Kiste\, um diesem Zwischenort eine Eintragung in die speziellen Landkarten der unerhörten Musik zu ermöglichen. \nhttp://www.eflunger.com/httpdocs/DE/projekte.asp#etc_bimm \nBAMM \n \nSeit Frühjahr 2025 sind einige Videos zur Musik von BAMM (bzw bimm) entstanden. Sie zeigen\, was man alles zu dieser Musik träumen kann\, abstrakt\, symbolisch\, real oder mit Trick. Und dass das\, was hektisch und chaotisch klingt\, auch Ruhe und Gelassenheit erzeugen kann. Zu sehen gibt es Musikvideos von Angela Christlieb\, Jack Hauser\, Sabine Marte\, Rudolf Müller und Doris Schmid\, zu hören gibt es zwischendurch bimm (oder auch BAMM) live ohne Video.\n \nDa die Musiker:innen von BAMM / bimm auch abseits der Livemusik künstlerisch tätig sind\, wird es im Beiprogramm ein paar Nebenattraktionen geben: Chris‘ mikrotonaler Luster wird ab Anfang Jänner im Echoraum hängen\, Elisabeth baut eine Miniversion ihrer Murmelbahn auf und Edgar bringt ein paar Ergebnisse seiner künstlerischen Produktion mit. \nElisabeth Flunger ist Schlagzeugerin\, Komponistin\, Performerin und Klangkünstlerin. Sie spielt improvisierte und komponierte neue Musik\, arbeitet in Theater- und Tanzproduktionen\, hält Improvisations- und Kompositionsworkshops für Kinder und Erwachsene und konzipiert orts- und themenspezifische Installationen und Performances. Ihr Lieblingsinstrument ist ein loser Haufen von Metallobjekten\, die sie in Konzerten und Performances verwendet. Für dieses Instrumentarium hat sie spezielle Spieltechniken entwickelt und eine Reihe von Solostücken komponiert.\nwww.eflunger.com \nEdgar Friedl studierte Plastische Konzeption und Keramik an der Kunstuniversität Linz und spielte Schlagzeug in diversen Bands\, bevor er 2009 zu den Plattenspielern und Tonbandgeräten griff. Er ist Leiter des experimentellen Soundlabs auf der Kunstuni Linz. Legendär ist nicht nur der Film „Under the Underground“\, den Angela Christlieb über sein Studio gedreht hat\, sondern auch seine Musikmaschinen\, unter anderem „The Totally Mechanized Midi Orchestra“\, das auch live mit der Band Blueblut spielt und in Angela Christliebs Kurzfilm „The Garden of Robotic Unkraut“ porträtiert wird. \nAKTUELL Start
