The current music festival for contemporary creation
The autumn festival, which brings together improvised, experimental, and unclassifiable music, will once again take place from September 26 to 28 in the extraordinary setting of the Saint-Merry Church, just a stone’s throw from the Centre Georges Pompidou.
In this 8th edition, the CRAK Festival celebrates women: pioneers of the spatialization of sound, explorers with their own unique language, whose goal is to transcend what no written form can convey.
The release party for the OCCAM OCEAN box set, the first and so far only orchestral piece by composer Éliane Radigue, performed by ONCEIM. Thomas Ankersmit’s ode to the American composer Maryane Amacher in a solo performance with his modular synthesizer Serge. New York saxophonist Léa Bertucci is coming to France for a single date to present her second album, “Resonant Field.”
The men are no less impressive: the improvisational quintet Hubbub is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and Canadian turntablist Martin Tétreault is performing solo and is also the author of a piece reinterpreting the octave played by ONCEIM. And finally, not to be missed are the extremely rare Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, the Iranian daf and tombak master, and the group Pancrace, which repurposes the church organ in the style of a village festival.
In these challenging times for contemporary creation, the Crak Festival continues to offer a space for the discovery of rare and daring projects, proving that it still has a bright future ahead of it.

Das Herbstfestival, das improvisierte, experimentelle und unklassifizierbare Musik vereint, findet vom 26. bis 28. September wieder im außergewöhnlichen Ambiente der Kirche Saint-Merry, nur einen Steinwurf vom Centre Georges Pompidou entfernt, statt.
In dieser 8. Ausgabe würdigt das CRAK-Festival Frauen: Pionierinnen der Verräumlichung von Klang, Forscherinnen mit ihrer eigenen, einzigartigen Sprache, deren Ziel es ist, über das hinauszugehen, was keine Schrift vermitteln kann.
Die Release-Party des OCCAM OCEAN-Boxsets, des ersten und bislang einzigen Orchesterstücks der Komponistin Éliane Radigue, aufgeführt von ONCEIM.
