Ayşes aim with her music is to form an interdisciplinary artist identity, which in her case includes playing the cello, composing, singing and poetry.

She is a cellist who composes and sings, and she often uses her own works of poetry in her compositions. The style of her compositions can be described as genre-crossing. They include the elements of contemporary classical music, improvisation and Turkish folk music as well as experimental, spiritual and poetical elements.

With the artistic identity which Ayşe is working on to form, she aims to build a bridge between genres and cultures, to express her identity as a human being and a woman who migrated from Turkey through Europe to pursue an artistic career, and to narrate my experience through life and cultures.
With these aims and concept, she released her first solo CD with a program from own compositions and also as the cellist/singer interpreting own works, published 2023 by Amsterdam Cello Biennale.

“I started improvising as a small child by singing. When I started learning the cello, I usually improvised for hours in the flow instead of practising traditionally. That’s also the reason why I started composing. For me, free improvisation is the pulse of music. It has always existed before written music and will exist and change forever.”

Ayşes Ziel ist es, mit ihrer Musik eine interdisziplinäre Künstleridentität zu entwickeln, die in ihrem Fall Cellospiel, Komposition, Gesang und Poesie umfasst.

Sie ist Cellistin, komponiert und singt und verwendet häufig eigene Gedichte in ihren Kompositionen. Der Stil ihrer Kompositionen lässt sich als genreübergreifend beschreiben. Er umfasst Elemente zeitgenössischer klassischer Musik, Improvisation und türkischer Volksmusik sowie experimentelle, spirituelle und poetische Elemente.

Mit der künstlerischen Identität, an deren Entwicklung Ayşe arbeitet, möchte sie eine Brücke zwischen Genres und Kulturen schlagen, ihre Identität als Mensch und Frau zum Ausdruck bringen, die aus der Türkei über Europa eingewandert ist, um eine künstlerische Karriere zu verfolgen, und ihre Erfahrungen durch Leben und Kulturen erzählen.
Mit diesen Zielen und diesem Konzept veröffentlichte sie ihre erste Solo-CD mit einem Programm aus eigenen Kompositionen und Interpretationen eigener Werke als Cellistin/Sängerin. Die CD erscheint 2023 bei der Amsterdam Cello Biennale.

„Ich begann schon als kleines Kind mit dem Singen zu improvisieren. Als ich anfing, Cello zu lernen, improvisierte ich meist stundenlang im Fluss, anstatt traditionell zu üben. Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich mit dem Komponieren begann. Für mich ist freie Improvisation der Puls der Musik. Sie existierte schon immer vor der geschriebenen Musik und wird für immer existieren und sich verändern.“
