QIRIM — a meditative live performance exploring sound, memory, and spirituality — in the intimate and exceptional setting of the carpet store Zamani Orientteppiche in Währinger Straße 125, 1180 Wien

“Qirim” is a musical journey into the culture of the Crimean Tatars and the wider, fractured world of Crimea. Drawing on archival songs, Eastern musical traditions, improvisation, and Rogiński’s long-standing research as an ethnomusicologist, the project unfolds as a living, breathing organism. Echoes of Sufism, mourning songs, and the vast pulse of the steppe intertwine with deeply personal reflections, creating an immersive and contemplative listening experience.

As we move into the coming year, one thing becomes increasingly clear to us: Listening is an active, social, and embodied act.This evening is conceived as a small and focused gathering — an invitation to listen together, attentively and without distraction, allowing sound, space, and presence to shape the experience.
